Description
This medium sword rack has a very old style “wabisabi” look. The antlers have been lacquered with thin layers of pure natural urushi lacquer to build up a deep glossy patina. The unique darkened and sculpted finish of the Cypress Cedar base is called yakisugi (or sometimes shou sugi ban / 焼杉板), and has been sealed with pure natural tung oil. Height is about 14″, width 12″, and depth just under 8″. The stand is suitable for large tanto (~10-12″ blade) up to wakizashi (~16-22″ blade) and the dark colour scheme looks lovely with shirasaya in that size range as well.
Material: reclaimed Red Cedar, antler sheds, reclaimed leather, Bamboo, natural urushi lacquer
