Morningstar Photos

Photos from our first day of weekend demos at Morningstar Farm, Little Qualicum Cheeseworks, and the Mooberry Winery.

Island Blacksmith: Hand forged knives and handmade metal buttons.

Despite a slightly rainy start, many people came out from Vancouver, Victoria, and the oceanside area to enjoy the farm today. It was nice to see a few familiar faces from other recent demos and meet some new friends as well. Tamaki wowed the crowds with her magical transformation of scrap metal into art buttons while Davej worked on some blades as well as the rough work on a traditonal wrought iron style sign hanger.

Morningstar Farm is a working dairy, and is home to a cheeseworks, winery, and the Farmgate store. It is located on Lowry’s Road just off Church Road in Parksville.

Most Saturdays through the summer we will be set up near the horses with live blacksmithing and button making demos hourly from 11:00am to about 2:00pm. Come and check out our handmade reclaimed softwood charcoal and say hello. Thank you to all the friendly staff we met today for welcoming us as part of the Morningstar Farm community.
