Mini Brass & Ebony Spring Folder

Crossed Heart Forge: Hand forged knives

This began as a prototype and was my first attempt at a folding knife. Due to the small size of the piece I opted for a spring-tension lock system rather than an actual lock. This is quite a bit more complex than a friction folder and was a good challenge to take on. The shape is a slightly dropped point and the back of the spring is fileworked. It was made from a reclaimed seed drill disk finished with an ebony handle and brass scales and pins.

1.5″ blade, 2″ closed, 3.5″ open.

Material: Reclaimed seed drill disk steel, brass, ebony
This piece is currently in my own collection.
